You can rely on the specialist
The Hama product range has included cables since 1978. During this 30-year period, the company has become an experienced cable specialist. The technical challenges have changed over the years, and now there are countless varieties of plugs and sockets for almost any application you can imagine. But one thing has remained constant at Hama: the demand for excellent quality.
Stringent quality and safety guidelines are used at Hama. Each delivery is checked in accordance with a detailed quality control plan, which includes an initial sample inspection, an in-process inspection, and an incoming goods inspection. For precision measurements of mechanical and electrical components, we have our own testing laboratory equipped with the latest testing equipment. |

| Some things you can't do without | |
|
On the way from "A" to "B", the signal faces frequent obstacles. For example, when you transmit an HD signal over a cable to a terminal device, the cable has to have specific properties so that the signal can still be processed at the end of the chain (e.g. LCD TV).
Shielding
Good shielding ensures that disturbances in the form of electromagnetic interference (caused by a mobile phone or W-LAN, for example) are suppressed. Poorly made cables often provide less shielding – or sometimes no shielding whatsoever.
| Cable with poor shielding |
Hama cables |
The shielding does not reach the actual plug. The result: the signal is susceptible to external interference and is no longer intact when it reaches its destination. |
 |
 |
All Hama cables are shielded against electromagnetic interference right up to the tip of the plug.
External interference cannot affect the cable. |
This produces crosstalk, which distorts the originally transmitted signal. When the shielding is extremely poor, you can see disturbances in the picture, such as semi-transparent blocks, slight noise, double edges, or the picture colour is affected.
|
All Hama cables are shielded all the way up to the plug tip and ensure that the signal is not interrupted during transmission, providing the best possible picture quality. Video Antenna Cables

Gold-plated plugs
 |
 |
Nickel-plated contacts can oxidise quickly. The result: the signal is significantly attenuated. This can cause picture disturbances, and can even lead to a complete loss of picture. |
Gold-plated contacts provide a secure electrical connection and ensure optimum signal transmission. |
When you buy a cable, make sure that both the plug and the contacts inside the plug are gold-plated. All Hama cables are made this way. |
 |
The purest materials with the highest degree of quality
A cable that is made out of low-quality materials can also cause picture disturbances such as trailing effects or a jerky picture.
That is why Hama cables are made from only the best quality materials available (e.g. the purest copper).
This ensures a secure data flow and an optimal picture. |
| The HDMI™.org seal of approval | |
Hama is a licensed HDMI™ supplier (www.hdmi.org). This means that all HDMI™ cables produced by Hama are certified by the HDMI™ organisation. In order to obtain this certification, the cables must meet stringent quality requirements. Only certified cables are allowed to bear the HDMI™.org seal of approval:

| Innovative problem solutions | |
You can twist and turn Hama HDMI™ rotation and angular cables any way you like: they will still fit. Whether in the narrow space between the wall and the back of the television or for the vertical side connections on the new generation of ultra-flatscreen TVs – you won't have a problem with space or broken cables, but you will be able to enjoy impressive full HD 1080p quality.

If you have a stylish home entertainment system, you will also want nice cables. The Hama product range even has matching cables for grey components. This means that the data is transmitted in optimum quality and without having to "cramp your style". The product range also includes cables with a classy black nylon jacket to match standard black components.

| Conclusion – there is a difference | |
Every chain is only as strong as its weakest link. If you believe in this principle, you should only use high-quality cables to connect your high-quality home cinema components.
If you use low-quality cables, there may be some loss of quality in the signal. A good cable must have effective shielding and gold contacts, and it must use high-quality materials inside the cable. Gold-plated plug contacts provide a secure electrical connection, especially when used with gold-plated sockets. Good shielding will eliminate most signal interference.
A poorly made cable is more liable to fail due to material wear.
Therefore, you should never do without the quality features mentioned above – there is a difference! |
